The Basic WASCOB training series is a four-part video based on the original Basic WASCOB webinar presented in April from the Technical Training and Certification Program. The format is mostly a recorded PowerPoint. This course is intended for staff that are very new to the WASCOB practice and need to learn terminology, design concepts, and start to visualize how WASCOBs are laid out in the field. The goal is to build a base-level of knowledge to prepare staff for further classroom and field training opportunities.
How to install a soil wrap to function as a slope break for erosion control is the focus of this video for contractors and landowners in Central Minnesota and the Upper Midwest. Crow Wing SWCD, University of Minnesota Extension, Minnesota DNR, and Thirty Lakes Watershed District partnered to produce five instructional videos about shoreline best management practices.

Participants are introduced to terms and definitions of the USCS. The use of the system for engineering practices is explained. The video also compares this system to other classificaton systems.
